Juli David Proposal 1130 600

David kneels. He has a ring in his hand. Juli accepts his marriage proposal. And here they are, together and happy to drink on the Danieli’sterrace, with a unique view of San Marco.

They made a long trip. They left from an other hemisphere and continent: South America. Juli and David boarded in their native Colombia to the discovery of Western Europe, in particular Italy, France and Spain. The first stop of their journey is the most romantic city in the world, Venice. Unaware of all, the young woman did not know that, waiting for her, there would be not only the inimitable atmosphere of the lagoon’s squares and many breathtaking views, but also something which, as tradition requests, the fairsex daydreams: a passionate marriage proposal, followed by an equally memorable toast on one of the most exclusive terraces of the ancient maritime republic. A moment prepared in detail, able to give consistency to the motto "reality is even more extraordinary than imagination ".

The holiday of David and Juli has begun in the same way of the ones of millions of people. The landing at Marco Polo, the Alilaguna for Venice, then the arrival in one of the various landings, depending on the proximity of the hotel. The ancient maritime republic is discovered by walking. Smartphone could also make life easier, but in a city like Venice you do not need to be rushed. You walk without fear of being hit by mechanical things. Only old buildings and humans. The only serious risk that you can run is to be stunned by too much artistic beauty. The two sweethearts start to go around the city.

From any part of the island you are coming, sooner or later you always reach Rialto Bridge, the oldest of the four bridges that connect the banks of the Grand Canal. And once you are on top, high more than 7 meters, it is time to enjoy a magnificent view: on one side San Lucia, on the other San Marco. To the latter they direct hand in hand, with the precise idea of getting on a gondola and go for an experience that no picture will be ever able to tell. On the first hours of a mild afternoon, the two "lovebirds" break off from the masses. Now there are only them. While they cut through water they make expression of wonder. When the good gondolier has already gone through a big portion of the Grand Canal, David asks to pull over near Campiello of Remer. Besides the undoubted charm of that point, from which they enjoy Ri 'Alto Bridge and the nearby fish market, to attract the couple is above all a violinist, who sits while strumming his violin. A sweet moment that soon will change radically, marking the future of both. Suddenly, David leaves the hand of his beloved, and in a flash he kneels, offering her the engagement ring. Juli is moved and happily accepts. From "the back" a warm rain of petals makes its way.

And after such a sentimental deluge, now there is “only one thing to do". A fitting end. The caring boyfriend invites his future wife in a place that is more than “magical”. The terrace overlooking San Marco of Danieli Hotel. Located in Riva of Schiavoni, a few steps from Palazzo Ducale, the building is the ancient Dandolo Palace, built in the fourteenth century by that noble family which, over the centuries, gave to the Republic of Venice four doges. This hotel consists of three buildings connected by inner bridges. From the very beginning, the palace was always characterized by lavish elements and known as a crossroads of the social life. The present name is dated back to 1822, when Giuseppe Dal Niel, called "Danieli", rented in the beginning the second floor of the building and transform it in an hotel. The hotel had an extraordinary success, with the related collections: in 1825 Danieli has the amount required to buy also the rest of Dandolo Palace and turn it in the structure that still attracts the wealthy tourists from around the world, including writers such as Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Marcel Proust, Balzac, Charles Dickens, Eugenio Montale and more. But do not only the sumptuous pens of the past: with the advent of cinema such a structure could not pass unnoticed. Among the clappers that the German director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck tapped in Venice, some of the most significant were given to the Danieli, filming The Tourist (2010), starring the superstars Angelian Jolie and Johny Depp.

Authentic gem between gems, the terrace overlooking San Marco is considered one of the most romantic places in all Venice. That is where Juli indulges in sweet words, sipping champagne with his beloved David. "Love, I love you so much, you're special", she whispers softly, "I did not expect all this, really. When I'm with you I feel important and special. I'm really happy. This is a unique and wonderful moment. I love you". To the poetry of the most sincere heart to the musical art of their compatriot Fonseca, whose lyircs of Prometo appear to have been written specifically to preserve the marriage proposal of David to Juli and their toast of love on the terrace: "I promise to give you the sun every day/ I promise every day this idyll/ I promise that you will always be in my dreams/ And I promise you that my love will be forever/ I promise you my darling/ I promise that I will always be in your life".
