Wedding in the St. Mark’s Basilica, Venice, Italy

A very romantic wedding in the St. Mark's Basilica, Venice, Italy.

Laurene Francesco

Laurène and Francesco, a young couple, were married at sunset in the St. Mark Basilica, when the majestic church was closed to the public.

Venice and the Basilica

“ Venice is unique artwork! This city is composed of 118 small islands, seems to float on the waters of the lagoon. The Venetians have planted in the lagoon a large amount of poles building the foundation on which rests the whole city. Under the Rialto bridge there are at least a hundred thousand; the St. Mark's Basilica rests on rafts supported by oak piles of elm.

The trunks, taken in the forests of Cadore, Veneto Alps; came up to Venzia down by the rivers, on the Piave.

If you are in Venice, you're walking on an endless forest, you're walking on an overthrow incredible forest. Every corner of Venice is lovely, but the most important place among all the Venetians is the St. Mark's Squere, the heart of Venice, renowned throughout the world for its beauty and architectural integrity. At the center of the square you can find the St. Mark's Basilica, gold-colored and covered with mosaics that tell the history of Venice.

Coming down the stairs of the Basilica you can find the Crypt, where in 1904 was placed with great solemnity the body of St. Mark. The crypt was reopened for worship and to the public in 1889 after extensive restoration work.

This is the city that makes wonder to the world...”

The ceremony of Laurène and Francesco was intimate and elegant, full of charm and history.

After a few photo shots in the most magical places of Venice, the reception was organized in a Venetian Palace just a few steps from Piazza San Marco.

The candles... the lights... and the magical atmosphere of Venice made this wedding unique and memorable.
