Armenian wedding in Venice

Armenian Wedding Ceremony Venice

Venice is always a special place to get married, after all it is considered all over the world the city of love par excellence. But for Armenian couples who want to marry with a religious ceremony, it is the perfect place! In fact, there is an island, part of the Venice lagoon, called San Lazzaro degli Armeni, where is located one of the most important Armenian monastery in the world. This island is one of the smallest in Venice, far from the crowd of tourists and so a calm and peaceful place, the ideal location to get married with the typical Armenian ritual.

As soon as you arrive at the island (after 10 minutes by boat from Piazza San Marco) you will feel a sense of great inner peace. The only building on the island is right the monastery, which the monks will be happy to make you discover. We can assure you that worth a visit! You will be fascinated by the beauty of its courtyard and its green garden, as also of its three-nave church with an apse decorated with mosaics.

Armenian couples from all over the world decide to celebrate their Armenian wedding in this unique and fascinating place, which moreover is located in an unparallel geographical position, and we are proud to offer our help in organizing their special day.

You are daydreaming about an Armenian wedding immersed in the waters of the Venetian lagoon, aren't you? We want to make you dream even more, taking the example of Marina and Viken, a very sweet couple from Canada, for whom we organized the most beautiful Armenian wedding ever right here, on the island of San Lazzaro degli Armeni.

The ceremony that sealed their love forever took place right in the church inside the monastery. It was a sunny April day, the ceremony would have been at 3:00 pm, so in the morning, while Marina and Viken were doing their individual photo shoot, we decorated the church with a lot of flowers, as the bride had asked. Marina and Viken arrived on this oasis of tranquility by boat, happy and excited on this very special day. The church was decorated with many callas, creating an atmosphere of serenity and purity. After a touching ceremony, the newly-weds, together with their guests, moved for the wedding reception in a splendid XIII-century Venetian palace, decorated with hundred of fragrant and colorful flowers. On the table there was a gold-colored menu, two typical golden masks of Venice for the newly-weds, splendid glasses with a golden rim and elegant golden plates for all guests. Can you imagine the astonishment of the guests? Everything was perfect, it was enough to look at the smiles printed on Marina and Viken's faces to understand that.

Another beautiful Armenian wedding we organized was that of Mila and Colin, whose story we want to tell you. Mila is a nice gentle Russian girl born in Armenia, Colin instead is a handsome Italian guy born in California, whose destiny made them meet in London. Their dream was to get married in Venice and to spend a few days in the city of love with their loved ones alongside. The first day we organized a private dinner for them and their families inside an historical palace in Venice, and the day after was the time to meet all their friends, which came to attend their wedding from all over the world, and we organized a pre-wedding party for them. The third day was that of the wedding, the last and most beautiful.

Within the beautiful frame of the island of San Lazzaro degli Armeni, Mila was accompanied by her father to the altar, where Colin was waiting for her clearly excited, while the romantic and delicate music of a violin created the right atmosphere. After the ceremony, the newly-weds took a water taxi to have some time apart and take some pictures, while the guests reached the terrace of one of the most beautiful palaces in Venice to enjoy the aperitif we arranged for them. Then, the just-married couple arrived and the party began: the doors of the hall opened, showing the two imperial table we located in the center, decorated with elegant candleholders and flowers. Everything was in shades of light pink and white, as Mila wished. After the wedding dinner was time to dance. It was so romantic seeing Mila and Colin's first wedding dance, under the notes of the song "How long will I love you" by Ellie Goulding. This wonderful day ended with the cutting of the cake and the smile printed on everyone's faces.

Have we managed to make you imagine what your Armenian wedding in Venice could be like? We really hope so. Brilliant Wedding Venice is pleased to offer to Armenian couples around the world the possibility to celebrate their religious wedding inside the beautiful Armenian Church on San Lazzaro degli Armeni island.
