If you could make a wish about your wedding, what would you ask? Are you dreaming of a fairy-tale wedding, inside a magnificent palace?

Are you dreaming of a wedding ceremony in a Palazzo on the Grand Canal in Venice, the city of love? What if we say that we can make your wish come true?
That is exactly what we did with Susann and Burcak. They live in Sweden and they had a dream: get married in Venice, the most romantic city in the world! They contacted us because they were looking for a romantic venue for their wedding ceremony and then for the wedding dinner with families and friends. They were thinking about a palace, like the one we are used to imagine when we were kids, with a big staircase, huge ballrooms decorated with frescoes and beautiful chandeliers where the prince and the princess could dance in their best dresses. This place actually exists: it is a luxury Palazzo on the Grand Canal in Venice and we helped this couple to organize their unforgettable wedding ceremony and wedding reception there!

Venice is the perfect city to get married in a palace, since there are many different options to choose from according to your preferences, the number of guests you are planning to invite, the part of the city you prefer and so on. If you are curious, have a look at our website where you can find other alternatives of beautiful palaces overlooking the Grand Canal! Many of them have been transformed into luxury hotels, so if you want you and your guests could also stay in the same place where the wedding takes places. That was the choice of Susann and Burcak, who booked a huge luxury suite to spend the first days as newlyweds.

The wedding day started in the morning, when a hair & make up stylist went to the suite to prepare Susann for the ceremony. The bride was so excited when her bridesmaids helped her wearing her white dress: she really looked like a princess in the fairy-tale palace! Before the ceremony, the bride and groom decided to take a moment just for the two of them, to look at each other before swearing eternal love.

Meanwhile, it was time of the wedding ceremony. Everything was ready in a big hall overlooking the Grand Canal. The musician was already playing “River flows in you” of Yiruma when the groom entered into the room, followed by the best men and the bridesmaids. After that, the beautiful bride went up the stairs and stepped into the hall, smiling while she was walking in the direction of the man who was about to become her husband forever.

All the wedding ceremony was very touching, but the moment when the bride and groom exchanged the rings while the violinist was playing was incredibly romantic! After a toast with the guests, the bride and the groom went aboard a gondola for a photographic service along the Grand Canal and then they took a water taxi to reach the most beautiful spots of Venice and take pictures that will be precious memories of their romantic wedding in Venice.

After the photographic service, they reached the palace again, where everything was ready for the wedding reception. There are several luxury hotels in Venice where we can organize a wedding reception for you and your guests, but this is a very special one. The wedding dinner was served in a beautiful ballroom, all decorated with stunning frescoes. We decorated the room with pink flowers, which matched perfectly with the gold of the chairs, the candlesticks, the chandeliers and even the masks that all the guests were wearing when the bride and groom stepped into the room.

The decorations were in perfect harmony with the room and the atmosphere was even more romantic thanks to the music of a trio. The musicians played classical music, as well as more modern songs like “Perfect” of Ed Sheeran, “My heart will go on” of Celine Dion and many others requested by the bride and groom.

A wedding in a Palazzo on the Grand Canal in Venice is a good choice not only because of the location itself, but also for the delicious food that you and your guests could taste! Here is the menu Susann and Burcak chose for their wedding reception:

Starters
Crispy Scallops with Marjoram Artchokes Salad, Blueberries and Avocado

First course
Traditional Venetian risotto with seafood

    Main Course
Beef fillet with marsala, served with sweet potatoes and liquorice mini pie

  Dessert
Prickly pear parfait with caramel and ginger meringue

Last but not least, after the dessert it was the moment of the cut of the cake. The 3-tier wedding cake the bride and groom chose was really good-looking: a sponge cake with a white chocolate creamy mousse, a red fruits gelly and almonds, all in the shades of pink.

After such an important day, with the wedding ceremony in a Palazzo on the Grand Canal and then the wedding dinner, is there a better way to end up than a first dance as newlyweds? Especially when the musicians create the perfect atmosphere playing such a romantic song like “Thinking out loud” of Ed Sheeran… is there a better way to end your wedding day in Venice than holding your better half after swearing eternal love?
