Getting married in Venice Italy on a beautiful terrace

A fabulous wedding on a terrace in Venice, Italy

Getting married in Venice Italy on a beautiful terrace

Sam and Carl are a wonderful English couple who contacted our wedding planner agency in Venice to fulfill their deepest dream: getting married in the city they got engaged twenty years before.

It was an honor for us being involved in this solemn celebration and we tried to satisfy their every request.

This is what they said about us, right after their return to England.

Our primary goal was making them happy, this is why we organized every detail with extreme attention and care, from the wedding flower arrangements to the photoshoot on St. Giorgio Maggiore island and the gondola ride among Venetian canals.

It’s no by chance that this is one of our best Venice wedding packages.

Intime wedding ceremony inside a sumptuous Venetian palace

There are many Venetian palaces where you can get married in Venice, and the one we propose to Sam and Carl is one of our favorites, especially for the elegant and majestic marble staircase we adorned with candles and purple petals.

The symbolic ceremony was quite simple but really moving. Sam had a bouquet in tones of pink and purple, composed of many different flowers, such as lilies, roses, and hortensias.

She was really beautiful in her white dress and thrilled to marry her beloved Carl. The delicate sound of a harp accompanied the newlyweds’ ceremony, creating the perfect atmosphere Sam and Carl wanted for their wedding.

Right after the celebration, the just-married couple took a water taxi to take some pictures around Venice as a keepsake. They first went through the Grand Canal and then they reached one of the most beautiful churches in Venice: the Santa Maria della Salute Basilica.

Their last stop was the San Giorgio Maggiore island, a special place where to take some stunning pictures and have a memory of a day they won’t forget for the rest of their life.

After the water taxi tour, the took a gondola to enjoy a romantic tour of Venice, while their guests were reaching the place for the wedding dinner.

Taking a gondola ride is an experience you must live at least once in your life if you come to Venice, not only because it’s something you can just do here, but also because it’s a way to live the city differently. Then if you’re planning to get married in Venice, it’s also an occasion to live an intimate and touching moment with your spouse.

Wedding dinner on a terrace facing the Grand Canal

If you would like your wedding dinner or even the ceremony to be on a terrace in Venice you’ll be spoiled for choice. In fact, there are several beautiful terraces in Venice you can choose from, like the one where Sam and Carl had their wedding dinner.

This particular terrace is facing the Grand Canal and hosts an enchanting Statue of Liberty. Having the gondolas passing by and the sun reflecting on the Venetian lagoons creates a fabulous atmosphere, especially during summer, when you can dine out until late and enjoy the starred sky too.

We arranged a unique long table with bunches of flowers as centerpieces that recalled the bride bouquet. There were light pink roses, lilac hortensias and purple lilies, which created a nice combination of colors, in harmony with the golden service place we positioned on each seat.

The newlyweds arrived on a gondola like Venetian nobles used to do, accessing the palace from the original entrance: the one on the water.

A harp accompanied the wedding dinner with a soft and relaxing music, while the sun was coloring the sky with shades of pink and orange.

Sam and Carl’s wedding was really moving, even for us, since it’s always a gift seeing a couple loving each other for such a long time and still feeling the need to celebrate their promise in front of their families.

On our side, it was a real privilege having the chance to be their wedding planners in Venice.
