A moving Orthodox wedding ceremony in Venice

People usually say that October isn’t the best time to get married in Venice, but this is not what we said to Ioana e Mircea when they asked what would be like getting married during that time of the year.

We believe Venice is always a good place to celebrate your love for you better half, no matter the season or the weather and Ioana and Mircea decided to trust the word of two wedding planners like us, and according to how their wedding turned out to be, we can definitely say they did the right thing.

Ioana and Mircea are from Romania and when they contacted us, the first thing they told us was that they wanted a simple and intimate Orthodox wedding. Not many people, just 12, because they wanted to spend that special day just with the people who were closer to them.

We have absolutely no difficulty in satisfying their requests.

Organizing a small wedding in Venice is certainly easier than a big one, but it doesn’t mean it will be less fabulous.

This wasn’t the first time we took care of the organization of an Orthodox wedding in Venice, but we can assure you that it’s always as touching as the first time. You know that the Orthodox ceremony includes the ritual of the crowns, a symbolic gesture that the priest does to bless the couple and let them start their new life together. The bride and the groom become the Queen and the King of a new family, in which they both share the same responsibilities and privileges.

They had their first look inside La Residenza Hotel, a beautiful Venetian palazzo, and then they walked till the church together.

Ioana was wearing a wonderful wedding dress and when she stepped into the church she was already looking like a queen, and we could tell that Mircea was thinking the same from his eyes.

we have to say it. Both of them were touched and excited to become man and wife, and you could tell how happy they were to be there just with a small group of people from their families and friends to celebrate their love in front of God.

The Photoshooting around Venice

After the ceremony in one of the two Orthodox churches in Venice, San Giorgio dei Greci, the just-married couple took a gondola ride around the city.

Having a gondola ride after the ceremony is something we highly recommend to the couple we get in touch to. It’s absolutely the best way to enjoy a city like Venice, built and grew on water.

It was an extremely romantic moment, only for the two of them. The gondola rocked them along the canals, while they were holding their hands and look into each other eyes with pride and happiness. Venice is the most beautiful city in the world, no doubt about it, but if you see it with the eyes of a just-married couple it really appears even more beautiful and unique.

Right after the gondola ride, they had their photo shooting on a water-taxi and on the St. Giorgio Maggiore island, where the view of St. Mark’s Square and the same-name basin is amazing. However, Venice is a one-of-a-kind city that it wasn’t difficult to find a nice place to take some pictures and build the best memories of Ioana and Mircea’s wedding day.

Their embrace and kiss in front of the Doge’s Palace and St. Mark’s Bell Tower is enough to tell you the whole story of their silent but deep love.

During the whole day, we could distinctly feel the bond that ties them together becoming stronger and eternal, under the blessing of love.
