Keeping memories of your wedding day in Venice is something that every bride and groom desire, and there’s no better way to do it than with a photoshoot. If you choose the right wedding photographer (and we work with the best ones in town!), it can be an exciting experience that will last forever.

The photographer will capture your smiles, your hugs, your astonishing white dress (that’s for girls, of course!), your kisses, and your gazes, with a special and unique background: Venice.

But which are the best places where to set a wedding shoot in Venice? We selected our favorite ones, but first, let’s see how to choose the right location for your wedding shoot.

How to choose the perfect place to set your wedding shoot in Venice

Honestly, finding the ideal spot to have your wedding shoot in Venice is pretty easy: the city is amazing at every corner. But, we think that if you can have your pictures taken in a quiet and less crowded place, that would be better, don’t you think?

So, you have two possibilities: picking off the beaten path spot or scheduling your shooting early in the morning so you can have your wedding picture with the stunning St. Mark’s Square or the lagoon in front of the Doge’s Palace, completely empty as a background.

If you get married in Venice in the summer, consider the idea of booking the wedding photoshoot far from the hottest hours of the day.

So, just a few pieces of advice before revealing our favorite places to set a wedding photoshoot in Venice. Are you ready to find them out? Let’s get started!

1. Scala del Bovolo

001 The best places for a wedding shoot in Venice

One of the most original and unconventional places to have a wedding photoshoot in Venice. You might not know what this place is, but here’s a look into its history.

This astonishing building was built due to the will of Pietro Contarini, who wanted to reach his bedroom on the last floor with his horse - or at least this is what the legend says.

The building is equidistant from Rialto and from Saint Mark, and you can actually see St Mark’s bell tower from the terrace on the top of the tower.

Having your wedding photoshoot here would be amazing and breathtaking. It will be like having all of Venice at your feet!

2. San Giorgio Island

You probably know about this island, located right in front of the Doge’s Palace. It’s a magical place, full of history and away from crowds. Moreover, there’s a labyrinth in there where we can take some nice pictures of you two.

You can just have your photoshoot as soon as you get on the island, with the view of St. Mark’s Square right in front of view. That’s a really beautiful spot for your wedding photos.

3. Inside a water taxi along the Grand Canal

Having your wedding photo shoot on a typical water taxi while it crosses the Grand Canal will be absolutely fantastic. We can assure you that.

At the same moment, you’ll enjoy a tour along the most fascinating “water street” of Venice and you’ll have your original and unconventional wedding photoshoot done.

Isn’t it a great option?

4. On a gondola, through Venice’s inner canals

Of course, you can take your wedding pictures on a gondola surfing the Grand Canal, but usually, it is crowded and full of many other motorboats, so this is why we think that a gondola ride through Venice’s inner canals would be more intimate and romantic.

Taking your wedding photos here will be more natural and, in the meantime, you can see a side of Venice that otherwise, you won’t have the chance to see.

5. At a luxury ancient palazzo

We usually organize a lot of weddings inside this palace. If you look at the following picture you can tell by yourself that it is a stunning place to get married, but also to set a wedding photoshoot.

It’s an incredible location, and you’ll hardly find another one more perfect and luxurious than this one.

6. Inside the Secret Garden

Many symbolic weddings have been celebrated here, but this is also a great spot for wedding photoshoots too. A lot of palazzos in Venice have a secret garden, but this is certainly one of the most beautiful ones, also because it’s facing the Grand Canal and the view is amazing, especially when we decorate the garden with arches of flowers.

Think about it, it could be the perfect location for you!

7. A Stunning Rooftop Terrace

Yes, you caught us, we are keeping our best for the end. This rooftop terrace has an incredible view of St. Mark’s basin, especially during sunset.

The pink light of the sun reflecting on the lagoon and on the Basilica of Madonna della Salute is astonishing… and, bride, it perfectly fits with your wedding dress!

8. The Famous Danieli Hotel

What if we tell you that you can have your wedding photoshoot inside this amazing and historical building? You can actually take pictures of you two on your wedding day inside this enchanting location, and feel like your time has stopped.

You can’t imagine how it would be, because it will certainly be a hundred times more touching!

9. St Mark’s Square

009 The best places for a wedding shoot in Venice

Probably the most beautiful location for a wedding photoshoot in Venice overall: the iconic St Mark’s Square. But, as you know, it’s always crowded, so our suggestion is to schedule your photoshoot early in the morning to enjoy the square with no one around and colored by the sunrise lights.

10. A hidden Garden in the venetian lagoon

Another secret garden, but this time is located on an island. You’ll be away from reality in a green paradise on earth, surrounded by the lagoon. We love this place and we are sure you’ll love it too as soon as you see the previous wedding photoshoot we organized here!
