A historical Venetian Palazzo, the perfect place for a luxurious wedding in Venice

Have you ever lived a fairy tale? The magical wedding of Anna and Joel taking place in a Historical Palace located in the city center of Venice.

Day 1: The Civil Ceremony at Palazzo Cavalli, Venice Italy.

When Joel and Anna contacted us for the first time, a strong complicity was immediately created. She is Polish and he is Swiss, they live in Japan but they were ready to fly directly from Tokyo to crown their dream of love in Venice.  

They contacted us because they were looking for a romantic venue for their wedding ceremony and then for the wedding dinner with families and friends. Venice was the perfect city for them with so many gorgeous venues. They immediately fall in love with a historical Palazzo located in the city center of Venice.

Anna and Joel were enchanted by the big staircase and the beautiful Ballroom with high ceilings and antique frescoes.

The day before the catholic wedding in Venice was dedicated to the family: the couple got married civilly in the Town Hall of Venice, Palazzo Cavalli and then celebrated with a small and intimate aperitif.

The day started with delivery of beautiful white bouquet and boutonniere, made with fresh flowers, and then the photographer arrived to take photos of the bride and groom’s first look on the staircase.

Anna was beautiful and her eyes spoke for themselves. At the pier of the historical palace overlooking the Grand Canal two luxury boats were waiting to take the couple and the families to the Town Hall.

After the ceremony, the couple and their relatives took 4 gondolas and enjoyed a beautiful tour of the small and Venetian canals. The photographer followed them during the day to capture moments that they cherish forever in their memories. After 30 minutes of tour, they all got off close to Saint Marks Square.

Then the civil wedding celebration continued with an aperitif in typical Venetian Bacaro.

They toasted with a glass of Prosecco wine and ate Venetian appetizers called cicchetti made with seasonal fish, meat and vegetables. The aperitif was only the introduction for an early dinner booked in a five-star luxury hotel located in Riva Degli Schiavoni. The first day of this perfect weekend ended with a dinner overlooking the St. Mark's Basin with a special menu called “Lio Piccolo”:

Day 2: Religious ceremony followed by a wedding reception in a Palazzo on the Grand Canal.

The wedding day started in the morning, when a hair & make-up stylist went to Anna’s room to prepare her and the bridesmaid for the religious ceremony.

Happiness made its way through brushes, makeup and glitters.

The catholic ceremony was scheduled in the early afternoon in the beautiful church of San Zaccaria.

All the guests arrived together with the groom using five taxi boats and then entered into the church waiting for the bride’s arrival. Joel was visibly excited and full of joy in his elegant black dress.

Anna entered into the Church accompanied by her father and her two sisters, with the music played by the organ and the trumpet. The benches of the church were decorated with bouquet of white flowers and candles. At the beginning of the aisle there were two groups of vases with floral compositions, petals and candles.

There was a floral decoration placed on the pew of the church for the bride and groom with a beautiful cascading effect and flowers were placed on the altar.
Everything was surruonded by flowers and candles…the atmosphere was special.

After the ceremony the couple took pictures with family and friends in Saint Mark’s Square and inside the Royal Garden.

A luxury boat was waiting for Anna and Joel for their taxi tour with photoshooting in one of the most romantic cities in the world.

In the meantime, the guests arrived at the historical palace and they were enchanted by the beautiful rooms decorated with fantastic floral decorations.

The main staircase was decorated with a lot of petals and candles, while the marble tables in the room reserved for the aperitif were decorated with a very rich vases and flowers composition with candles.

It was a perfect dream with romantic music performed by an Italian duo of singers.

The aperitif was so delicious, all the guests enjoyed the food and drinks of the menu chosen by Anna e Joel:

The main ballroom for the dinner was like a fairy tale. A huge U-shape table decorated with mainly white flowers with a touch of powder pink and gold looked stunning with all the candles.

Nothing was left to chance: white tableclothes with gold chairs, powder pink napkins, mise en place and glasses with gold tones, personalized name tags placed upon the wine glasses...and obviously, the typical Venetian masks bought by the couple for all their guests and placed on the table.

The entrance of the bride and groom on the notes of "All you need is love" was such a special moment for everybody!

The dinner started and between each course there were friends and family members making speeches, as well as surprises such as a friend who sang and played for them a French love song  or the groom’s sister that created a video with photos of special and funny moments. Here is the menu Anna and Joel chose for their wedding reception:

…and if you think that's all... Wait for the wedding cake cut!

An after party with DJ set was waiting for them in a typical Venetian galleon.

After the coffee the guests left the luxury Palace with water taxis that brought them close to Saint Mark’s Square.
The galleon was decorated with flowers in the same style of the wedding reception.
Two big compositions on the wedding cake table and candles all around created the perfect atmosphere.

Once on the galleon they left for the basin of San Marco for the cutting of the cake and the first dance. The cake, a traditional vanilla sponge cake with pistachio cream, crunchy pistachios and fresh wild strawberries was made with sugar paste in white color and all the borders in gold by a design patisserie close to Venice and it was delivered directly on board. 

All the family and friends shared this marvelous moment with sparklers. The party lasted until late at night with music and dancing and all the guests enjoyed this moment. At the end of the day Anna and Joel were full of joy and surrounded by a lot of love.

Getting married in Venice is definitely the perfect choice for a fairy tale wedding!
