Wedding proposal in a stunning palace in Venice Italy

Mitesh decided to ask his girlfriend's hand in a Palace Venice Italy

 Mitesh Proposal 1130 600

The two lovers get to the palace, he says he has reserved an aperitif but at their arrival on the first floor an unforgettable surprise for her.

Outside, the eternal fascination of a city absolutely unique in the world. Inside, in their heart, a dream come true: a wedding proposal in a stunning Venetian palace. It’s been a long journey. They went across Asia, beyond Moscow and the Ural mountains until leaving behind their back the whole Eastern Europe. A backwards journey if compared to Alexander the Great’s horse ride, with a landing a little further North than the one of the famous captain from Macedonia. In Italy, in Venice. Here a romantic wedding proposal took place. Here, in the ancient heart of commercial routes towards the East, a man and a woman coming from India told the world they intend to continue their life together.

Mitesh didn’t mind of how much he would have spent for his beautiful partner. And this really made the organisation of his wedding proposal easier, especially for the choice of the location in a historical palace in the centre of Venice. No, I don’t mean that “you can judge a book by its cover” (in Italian we would say “clothes don’t make the man”) but undoubtedly you need to feel at ease with what you wear or what surrounds you. This goes for your house and it’s even more important for the place where you decide to declare your eternal love and make your engagement official, in this case Venice. The most difficult thing was to hide such a special secret until the D-day, but he managed to hold his nerve and the surprise was successful.

An excuse. A pretext. An invitation for an evening aperitif in a historical Venetian palace. Mitesh doesn’t need to tell her anything. Such an elegant location needs a suitable clothing and the girl wears a long purple evening dress. No jewels on her neck, just a pair of earrings and a lovely bracelet on her right wrist. For him, a suit. Nothing too lavish. The two lovers hold each other’s hand and go up the stairs decorated with little candle lights and red petals on alternated steps. At the beginning of the stairs the statues of plum cupids with their curls trimmed with leaves and fruit recall a time of fertility and wealth.

Once they get to the top, entering the first room is like entering a wonderful world. Tapestries, frescoes. The big and small lamps could illuminate a whole stadium. Windows of different sizes. But it’s not just that. There’s something different. The violinist is so fascinating while he is engaged in his solo. On the floor, or better on wide carpets there’s a kind of path of red petals which takes to a very big heart made by red petals, too. The young woman probably starts to suspect something, he gently leads her inside it and he finally kneels down for the most typical and romantic wedding proposal. The answer is, and only can be, one: a sweet and strong “yes”. It’s done. They are going to get married. No, not here, in their native land. Venice and its historical palace have been their personal and private goal.

The man stands up and joins his girlfriend. They slowly go to the terrace. They walk, they nearly tiptoe as if this moment was made of crystal. But it is not like this. It is exactly the opposite. It is tough and resistant like a diamond. Under them there is the Grand Canal. Under them there is an amazing show that until some days ago they could have only seen on TV. And maybe they had also wondered of being here, in such a breathtaking city. Mitesh has made something prearranged long ago come true. Maybe he thought about that when he first met his fiancé. He looked at her and daydreamed of asking her hand so far from home. Today, in Venice, that imagined wedding proposal has just become real.

The two lovers go back down the stairs. Their steps are interrupted by the emotion of both. They stop. They sit down. They take a rest from that experience of love that every day from now on will become deeper and deeper, more and more long-lasting. Most has been done. They could also tell their family and friends to get ready. Very early they will celebrate their wedding in India. But they will think about that tomorrow. Now there is only Venice; and now the ancient Maritime Republic calls for a gondola ride. If somebody thought this was predictable, it’s clear that he can’t understand the meaning of being cradled on a gondola along small and big canals and finally enjoy a fantastic artistic tour on the Grand Canal. The two Indian lovers watch around them. They wave. They smile to everybody and everything. They are officially engaged. They are really happy.

The tour ends perfectly on time in Saint Mark’s basin. They enjoy the view of the Basilica della Salute, the Church of Saint Giorgio Maggiore, the lagoon and the Doge’s Palace. Mitesh and his fiancé are in the middle of all this. Her long hair is gently moved by the wind. In front of Saint Mark’s Basilica, she hugs him. She looks into his eyes. There’s the promise of a life to spend together. Here, in Venice, not just a wedding proposal in a stunning historical palace took place. Here Mitesh and his fiancé engraved the word LOVE.
