Fancy wedding at the Aman Venice Hotel
The fairytale behind a wedding at the Aman Venice Hotel
Irina and Erek’s wedding at the Aman Venice Hotel was fascinating.
It was a small ceremony, with only 12 guests, something very private and intimate, as they wanted it to be. Irina is from Ukraina and Erek from Switzerland, but both of them live in Lichtenstein now, where they met.
When they contacted us, the first thing they asked us was about the requirements needed to get married in Venice, since they wanted their marriage to be legal in Lichtenstein too. We immediately reassured them, explaining how the civil wedding at Palazzo Cavalli in Venice works and how it would have been effective in their home country.
Once all doubts vanished, we started planning the wedding. According to their needs, proposing the perfect venue for their wedding was easy for us since we couldn’t think of a better place than the elegant Aman Venice Hotel. Irina and Erek instantly agreed once we showed them some pictures of the venue.

Irina and Erek’s civil wedding at Palazzo Cavalli
If you don’t want a religious or a symbolic ceremony, Palazzo Cavalli is the place to celebrate your civil wedding in Venice. It’s a palace facing the Grand Canal, not far from the Aman Venice Hotel, where the wedding reception would have taken place and where the couple and their respective families stayed while in Venice.
Irina got ready in the most beautiful and precious room of the hotel: the Alcova Tiepolo Suite - which is called so because of the magnificent fresco on the ceiling, executed by the famous Venetian painter Tiepolo.
Irina and her family arrived at Palazzo Cavalli with a water taxi we arranged for them. Erik, instead, reached it on foot before the bride.
The ceremony was moving and it was followed by a toast to celebrate the newlyweds and a romantic gondola ride along the Grand Canal.
Before getting to the Aman for the wedding dinner, Irina and Erek took some time on a water taxi for the photoshoot and to live the first moments as husband and wife.
Wedding decoration at the luxurious Aman Venice Hotel
Once the Irina and Erek stepped into the hall, their song “Kissing” by Bliss started playing. They were touched and with a tear of joy in their eyes, they broke the bread as the Russian tradition wants.
We prepared the hall with a lot of candles and petals, to welcome the just-married couple in their new life together. Then we put a floral arch at the end of the hall, to introduce them to the room where we arranged a long table covered with an elegant antique-pink velvet tablecloth, many different flowers, and crystal chandeliers.

We decorated the whole table with bunches of orchids, hydrangeas, some spring flowers (like tulips, daffodil, Hyacinth), freesias and magnolias. Everything was in tones of white, yellow and pink, with some hints of lilac and purple. Certainly one of the best wedding flower arrangements we have ever made.
The chairs were gold and the chandeliers were adorned with flowers too.

The wedding cake was 70cm tall, divided into 3 levels and decorated with a cascade of flowers, from the top to the bottom. It was a classic sponge cake with Vanilla cream, garnished with wild strawberries.
Then Irina and Erek had their first ball. They hold each other in a gentle embrace and danced under the notes of “Someone like you” by Van Morrison, very well played by a four-piece band, composed by a singer, a pianist and two guitarists.
This fancy and extremely moved wedding at the Aman Venice Hotel has been one of our favorites in 2019. Getting married in a place like the Aman Venice Hotel is something that lasts forever in everyone’s heart because if you dream of living a fairytale wedding this is where your dream can effectively come true.
