Luxury wedding at Baglioni Hotel Luna in Venice

In Venice there are a lot of churches where you can get married with a Catholic, Orthodox or Armenian rite. The Armenian wedding ceremonies are organized in the island of San Lazzaro degli Armeni and can be followed by fabulous wedding receptions, such as the sumptuous wedding reception of Marina and Viken or the majestic wedding dinner and party of Mila and Colin. Among the many stunning ballrooms in Venice, one of the best venues for a luxury wedding is the Baglioni Hotel Luna.

The Baglioni Hotel Luna Venice is a luxury hotel located in the heart of Venice, just a couple of minutes walking from St. Mark's Square. The hotel boasts a stunning interior, with traditional Venetian décor and antique furnishings, while from the panoramic terraces of the suites it is possible to enjoy panoramic views overlooking the Grand Canal. Last but not least, the ballroom of the Baglioni Hotel Luna is a majestic room all decorated with frescoes where we organized the luxury wedding dinner and party of George and Iryna!

The bride and groom wanted to get married with an Armenian ceremony in St. Lazarus Island and then enjoy a memorable wedding reception in a stunning setting with their 50 guests. They lived in the US so they contacted our team of wedding planners based in Venice to organize their luxury wedding and we were happy to share with them some ideas to make it glamorous.  

On a warm and sunny day of October, the bride was getting ready in the most iconic luxury hotel of Venice, the famous Hotel Danieli. Iryna looked like a princess in her wedding dress and the suite of the hotel Danieli was the perfect framework for great wedding photos and videos. Then, a luxury taxi boat picked her up: it was the time for an emotional Armenian ceremony in Venice!

The groom and the guests were already inside the Armenian church on the island of St. Lazarus waiting for the arrival of the bride. The church was richly decorated with big floral compositions at the entrance, petals along the aisle, bouquet of flowers on every bench, flowers close to the altar: our wedding planners always dedicate a lot of attention to decorate the churches of Venice for the religious ceremonies, as we did for the marvelous wedding of Joel and Anna.

After some group pictures outside the church, we organized a guided visit to the island of St. Lazarus for the guests, so that the bride and groom could spend some time with the photographer and videographer. It is part of the job of the wedding planner to plan an itinerary to the best place for a wedding photo shoot in Venice, such as the island of San Giorgio and the famous hotel Danieli. 

What is the most spectacular way to arrive at the wedding reception? The majestic wedding gondola! This is a unique experience of a destination wedding in Venice: George and Iryna used a luxury wooden taxi for their photographic service in the Venetian lagoon, but to go though the most iconic waterway of Venice, the Grand Canal, they chose the enchanting wedding gondola, perfect to arrive at their luxury wedding reception at Baglioni Hotel Luna.

When they reached the Baglioni Hotel Luna, all their guests were waiting for them at the water dock, cheering and clapping their hands to celebrate the newlyweds. An aperitif was served in the elegant lobby of the five-star hotel, with a duo of a violinist and a harpist creating the perfect atmosphere, until it was time to go upstairs for a fabulous wedding dinner and party!

For a luxury wedding at Baglioni Hotel Luna, the Marco Polo ballroom is the perfect place for the dinner. The ballroom, all decorated with frescoes and mirrors, is enchanting and the decoration was fabulous! To accommodate all the guests and leave some space for the dancefloor, we recommended a U-shape table, as the one of the luxurious wedding at the Aman Venice Hotel of Amina and Semir. 

The bride and groom wanted an elegant decoration that could match the colors of the frescoes and we couldn’t agree more. Therefore, the main colors of the wedding palette were ancient pink and gold: a pink satin tablecloth, matching pink napkins folded with an elegant napkin ring in gold and placed over the golden underplates together with a white rose, golden chairs, golden candles, crystal elegant candleholders and a runner of white roses and hydrangeas placed over a mirror along the entire table: an incredible floral decoration for a fantastic wedding at Baglioni Hotel Luna!

The 3-tier wedding cake cut was also a very special moment, followed by the first dance of the bride and groom and then the beginning of the party! Everyone danced in the ballroom and had a great fun, as it happened in another exclusive party in a Venetian palazzo that we organized.
