Situated between Giudecca and Lido, the Venetian Sacca Sessola Island, better known as the Island of Roses, it is one of the youngest of the lagoon: it was created artificially in the second half of the nineteenth century (1870). In the pasti it was the site of an important hospital, in the inauguration of wich King Vittorio Emanuele III was there. Now it is a private property. It is in this scenario, far from the tourist bustle of Venice, in the elegant Marriott Resort, that Allyson and her guests had an unforgettable mehndi event.

They embark at 3.30 pm from Hotel Cipriani and they reach their destination in 20 minutes of enjoyable water ride. Then they move in the Griffin Room. Think of finding a precise origin of this art is impossible: this practice was already used in Mesopotamia and North Africa, there are traces of mehndi even in China and only since 1200 it arrived in India. Color forearms, feet, etc. it is usually a good omen for the bride, and the darker the color is, the more the bride will agree with her future mother-in-law. An opportunity to use.

Disposition is joyful. It is a sort of celebration, with gifts, with all wife's friends. Time passes quickly, and there the female clan stay until sunset lights. A world too good the one of Island of Roses and so, to finish well the day, nothing better than a dinner. Strictly vegetarian menu. After a starter of cauliflower crème served with Montasio cheese and truffle, they eat a crispy fried eggplant and for dessert a delicious panna cotta with vanilla and berry crumble.

While women keep up their color culture with streaks of henna, men were more classic, starting the evening with an aperitif, that take place between the historic walls of Harry's Bar, located a short distance from St. Mark’s Square and declared, in 2001, National Heritage by the Ministry of Culture. It is no less famous the nearby Da Ivo Restaurant, in Calle Fuseri, where the party company moved to taste an excellent dinner. Its specialties are famous throughout the world: ask for information to George Clooney, Elton John, Sting, Harrison Ford, Nicolas Cage, Hugh Grant, etc., without forgetting the fairer sex: the singer Madonna, Christina Aguilera and Oscar winner Barbara Streisand, Anne Hathaway…
