Wedding proposal in Venice, luxury Venetian Palace

First the surprise, then a new world made of eternal promises, petals and pastries. Hannah said “I do” to the marriage proposal of her romantic Joshua.

Hannah Joshua Proposal 1130 600

From Australia to the island of gondolas. A journey inside the wedding proposal of Joshua to his sweet Hannah… love triumphs again in Venice.

Joshua and Hannah have changed hemisphere. They flew for almost an entire day, then their intercontinental flight has finally started the descent, landing in a city that is unique in the world: Venice, the land of artistic treasures in the open air. Venice, the ancient queen of the seven seas and increasingly more the final act of suitors from all over the world. Hannah and Joshua are walking. Few drops of rain. It doesn’t matter. They begin their adventure in the birthplace of the famous explorer Marco Polo, from the touristic epicenter: Piazza San Marco. They look at each other. They kiss.

They come back to the palace-hotel aboard an elegant private boat, under the pretext of a small aperitif, as all normal couples on vacation do. The man tell the woman to go to a more secluded room. Then they walk along the Hall of Giants, a work by Andrea Tirali (1660-1737), a Venetian architect. Two white marble putti with curls, greeting the ascent to the noble floor of the historic building. There, mosaic dominates. On walls and ceiling there are frescoes by Pietro Longhi, collecting waterfalls of wonder.

The young make sit his partner in the so-called Hall of Music. In perfect "nominal" style, to welcome them there is a pianist and a violinist. The room is breathtaking. A triumph of painting as there are few in the world, with works by Gaspare Diziani from Belluno, supported by other less-known colleagues.

Walls and ceiling are an apotheosis of art, all supported by impressive chandeliers in gold leaf. To rise in the chair there is Roman mythology, painted with some of the most important gods of the ancient world. In the middle of the scene there is the sun god, Apollo, on board of his chariot, from which the capital vices fall. All around, the divine messenger Mercury, the militant Minerva and Mars, then the lord of the deep Neptune, the great mother Cybele, Zeus and Hera, the ancient goddess of marriage and childbirth.

The name of the room is not accidental. The sound is the most delicate thing that can be. A small note and you will be swallowed up in a carpet of sound, in which you can soar. A feeling of walking in the noble history of the ancient Venice. Despite that "someone knows what is behind this moment", the wonder is for both of them. Hannah reveals a hint of nervousness, as if she understood that there is something in the air. So it is. Joshua breaks the delay and kneels. He has a box in his hands with an eternal promise inside. She smiles of love. She caresses his shoulder. He gets up and, as usual, puts the ring on the finger of her left hand, then a kiss.

The two future spouses do an improvised ballet, then they relax. In front of them there is a luxurious silver candelabra, with three lit candles. Fluffy pastries are served, accompanied by glasses of champagne. Hannah and Joshua are now ready to show in Venice the strenght of their declared love. They get on a gondola for a city tour. They both put on the typical straw hat of the gondoliers. She leans against him. A tender picture, every moment more touching. They pass under the Bridge of Sighs, then they get off and walk along the gardens of San Marco, where they peep the channel from the arcades nearby.

The time to discover Venice is never enough but there are places that can not be ignored, especially after a marriage proposal. One of these is certainly the island of San Giorgio, from there you can see everything. Canale Giudecca, Punta of the Dogana, Basilica of the Salute, Piazza San Marco and Palazzo Ducale. A small portion of the island where they unite their hands and do some soft dancing step, in the large lagoon front, leaving to the stars all the envy for not being a human in love.

Something is still missing to close such a great day. A dinner on the terrace, overlooking the Grand Canal. Joshua has thought about everything. So begin a tour in the delicacies of the local cuisine. Meanwhile, the lights are becoming more subdued. Venice inscribes in its infinite belly of love a new proposal of marriage, ended in the most classic happy ending. Stand back Hollywood, this is the real life. The best that there is.
