The Regata Storica: a week end in Venice

The Regata Storica is still one of the most extraordinary, picturesque and involving moments of the city, both for tourists and Venetian people. The Regata Storica, taking pace the first Sunday of September, is the most important date in the annual calendar of the Voga alla Veneta (Venetian rowing), a unique discipline practiced in the lagoon of Venice since ages.

Today it is even more spectacular tank to the famous historic parade preceding the competitions: dozens of coloured boats of the 15th century and gondoliers in costume who carry the Doge, his wife and the highest offices of the Venetian Bench in a faithful reconstruction of the glorious past of one of the most powerful maritime republics of the Mediterranean Sea. Brilliant Wedding Venice organizes a convivial weekend with a ringside seat to admire the spectacular Regata Storica.
