Intimate wedding at JW Marriott Venice Italy

 It’s a story of an extremely romantic and intimate wedding at JW Marriott in Venice, on the Island of Roses, in the Venice lagoon. 

Véronique e Nicolas came from France and they contacted us to organize their symbolic wedding in Venice. Basically they wanted one thing: having their wedding in privacy, something intimate and personal just with their families and close friends. 

Needless to say, we had the right place for them: the JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa. 

 

 

Getting married at JW Marriott in Venice: what to expect

Usually, when a couple asks us for a private ceremony, the JM Marriot Venice Resort & Spa is one of our favorite suggestions. This hotel can be the perfect wedding venue for an intimate ceremony, not only because it’s located on an island, but mainly because of its enchanting garden with a breathtaking view of the Venetian lagoon. 

The Island of Roses, enjoy what we call a micro-climate thanks to its position in the Venice lagoon, in fact, there are palms, a small olive tree grove, and other rare plants.

To respect Véronique e Nicolas’s request, we arranged everything for the celebration in the olive tree grove, positioning an arch made of pink roses and olive twigs, at the end of the path that Véronique would have walked to start her new life as a wife. 

 

 

We decorated every single chair with a pink drape, tied up with an olive twig, in perfect harmony with the wedding theme.

The atmosphere you breathe here is completely different from the one in the historic center of Venice. There’s no crowd, no noise, but just the sound of nature all around. it’s a hidden paradise, with a secret garden in it. 

After the ceremony, we arranged an aperitif outside, with some finger food and a typical Venetian spritz to let the guests make a toast to the just-married couple, before dinner. 

 

 

Wedding dinner in the deconsecrated church on the Island of Roses

The secret garden and the olive tree grove aren’t the only two unexpected things on the JW Marriott Venice Resort island, in fact, there’s also a no-longer consecrated church. 

The church is located in the park and it’s composed of a single nave, where usually are hosted many events, such as concerts, artistic presentations or conferences. 

We decided to prepare the table for Véronique e Nicolas’s wedding dinner inside the church. We used many small bunches of pink flowers as table centerpieces and decorated each chair with a lace cloth, held by an olive twig. 

 

 

Two spectacular Murano glass chandeliers are suspended from the ceiling of the church, which makes the atmosphere even more romantic and sophisticated. 

To end with style, we ornated the wedding cake with a composition of pink roses and olive twigs. The black stylized bride and groom topper were like the icing on the cake.
